Description:

What you need to know about perfumes:

1. Concentration differences

  • Perfume extract - has a concentration of 20%-40% aromatic compounds, being the most intense form of perfume;
  • Eau de Parfum (EDP) - with a concentration of 15%-30% aromatic compounds, it is one of the best-selling forms of perfume;
  • Eau de toilette (EDT) - contains 5%-20% aromatic compounds and is also one of the best-selling forms of perfume, along with eau de parfum;

2. Olfactory Pyramid

  • Every perfume has an olfactory pyramid, which describes its aroma structure.
  • The top notes are felt immediately after spraying the perfume.
  • The middle notes appear progressively after the top notes evaporate.
  • The base notes linger on the skin for a long time.

3. Perfume testing

  • When testing perfumes, spray them on your skin to allow the olfactory notes to develop.
  • Wait a few minutes for the top notes to evaporate and let the fragrance develop into the middle and base notes. This process will help you better understand how the scent of the perfume evolves on your skin.

4. Persistence

  • Each perfume interacts differently with each person's skin pH, affecting the persistence and scent.
  • To ensure longer lasting fragrance on the skin, apply it to pulse points, such as the wrists, neck, behind the ears, and knee joints.

5. Storing perfumes

  • Avoid storing them in hot places.
  • To maintain the freshness and quality of your perfumes, store them in a cool, dark place. This will ensure that your perfumes remain stable and authentic throughout use.
